4-Week Strategy Framework
Week 1Foundation Building
Objective
Establish rhythm and protect capital. Aim for 2-3% profit while learning how your strategy performs under prop firm pressure. Focus on consistent execution over returns.
Position Sizing
Risk maximum 1% per trade, 2% per day total exposure. This keeps you well within the 5% daily loss limit while building confidence. Your position size should never threaten more than 20% of your daily allowance.
Mindset
You're not trading your own money anymore - you're interviewing for a job. Every trade should demonstrate professional risk management. Expect to feel different pressure; this is normal and part of the process.
If Ahead
Bank the gains mentally but don't change approach. If you hit 2-3% by Wednesday, consider reducing size further or taking Thursday/Friday lighter. Early profits are a gift, not a signal to push harder.
If Behind
Stay disciplined. Being flat or slightly negative after week 1 is completely normal. Do NOT increase position size. The 8% target has no time limit - there's no prize for speed, only for completion.
Week 2Momentum Building
Objective
Target 3-4% total account growth by end of week 2. Focus on consistency over home runs. Start building the track record that satisfies the 15% consistency rule for Phase 2.
Position Sizing
If performing well, maintain 1% risk per trade. If struggling with execution, drop to 0.5% risk per trade. Remember: your largest winning day cannot exceed 1.2% if you want to hit exactly 8% (15% consistency rule).
Mindset
Week 2 is where most traders either build unstoppable confidence or start gambling. You're a professional fund manager now. Every decision should be explainable to a risk committee.
If Ahead
If you're at 4-5% total, you're in the driver's seat. Maintain your process but start thinking about the consistency rule. Plan your remaining trades to avoid any single day being more than 15% of your final target.
If Behind
Still plenty of time. If you're under 2%, maintain sizing discipline but ensure you're trading enough volume. The minimum 3 days means you need meaningful exposure, not just token trades.
Week 3Target Approach
Objective
Reach 6-7% total growth while maintaining consistency metrics. Begin planning your Phase 1 completion strategy. Every trade now should consider its impact on your daily P&L distribution.
Position Sizing
If close to target, reduce to 0.5-0.75% risk per trade. Focus on base hits, not home runs. Calculate backward: if you need 1-2% more, spread it across multiple days to satisfy consistency rules.
Mindset
This is where discipline separates professionals from gamblers. You can smell the finish line, but overconfidence kills more challenges than bad strategy. Stay process-focused, not target-focused.
If Ahead
If you're at 6-7%, you're almost home. Plan your final 1-2% across at least 2-3 trading days. Do not try to finish in one spectacular day - this violates the consistency rule and risks everything.
If Behind
If you're at 3-4%, you have time but need consistent performance. Slightly increase trading frequency, not size. Take 4-5 high-probability setups per day rather than 2-3. The math still works in your favor.
Week 4Challenge Completion
Objective
Cross the 8% finish line while ensuring no single day represents more than 15% of total profits (1.2% max daily gain). Prepare mentally for Phase 2's different dynamics.
Position Sizing
Minimum viable position sizes only. If you need 0.5% to hit 8%, don't risk more than 0.3% per trade. Take 2-3 smaller winners rather than one larger trade. Protect your achievement above all else.
Mindset
You're not trading anymore - you're capital preservation mode with a small growth mandate. Every trade should have minimal downside with reasonable upside. Think 'don't lose' not 'big win'.
If Ahead
If you hit 8%+ early in the week, STOP TRADING or trade minimum size only. Your job is done. Use remaining time to study Phase 2 rules and mentally prepare for the 5% target with 25% consistency requirements.
If Behind
If you need 2-3% still, break it into daily targets of 0.5-0.7%. Take profits quickly, cut losses immediately. The time pressure is real now, but panic sizing will destroy months of work. Stay professional until the very last trade.
