FundedX $100,000 Challenge — Position Size Calculator
Quick Answer
On FundedX's $100k account, your daily loss limit is $3,000, meaning 1% risk equals $1,000 per trade and 2% risk equals $2,000. For EURUSD with a 30-pip stop loss, risking 1% allows a position size of 3.33 lots ($1,000 ÷ $30 per pip).

Risk Guide
With FundedX's $3,000 daily loss limit on your $100k account, position sizing becomes critical math. At 1% risk ($1,000 per trade), you can afford exactly 3 consecutive losing trades before breaching the daily limit. At 2% risk ($2,000 per trade), just 1.5 losing trades puts you in danger - meaning one full loss plus a partial second loss ends your day.
The danger scenario: You take a 2% risk trade that loses $2,000, leaving only $1,000 buffer. Your next trade, even at 1% risk, could easily exceed the remaining buffer if you misjudge the position size or spread widens. This is where traders get caught - thinking they have room for 'one more trade' when the math says otherwise.
For position sizing calculations: EURUSD with 30-pip stop at 1% risk = $1,000 ÷ $30 per pip = 3.33 lots. GBPJPY with 40-pip stop at 1% risk = $1,000 ÷ $40 per pip = 2.5 lots. Gold with $20 stop at 2% risk = $2,000 ÷ $20 = 100 ounces. Always calculate position size as (Risk Amount ÷ Stop Loss in Dollars) before entering.
Unlike many prop firms, FundedX doesn't change rules between challenge and funded phases - your $3,000 daily loss limit and $4,000 max drawdown stay constant. However, the $5,000 profit target disappears once funded, replaced by profit splits. The single-phase structure means you only need to hit $5,000 profit once while respecting both loss limits.
The 4% max drawdown ($4,000) operates differently from daily loss - it tracks your account's peak-to-valley movement. If you're up $2,000 then lose $4,000, you've hit max drawdown even though daily loss is only $2,000. Most traders breach daily loss before max drawdown, but swing traders holding overnight positions face both risks simultaneously.
