4-Week Strategy Framework

Week 1Foundation & Risk Assessment
Objective
Establish your rhythm and test position sizing without taking unnecessary risks. Aim for 1-2% profit while respecting the 4% daily loss limit. Focus on understanding how the 25% consistency rule affects your daily targets - you can't make more than 2% in a single day (25% of 8% target).
Position Sizing
Start with 0.5-1% risk per trade maximum. With the 4% daily loss limit, you can afford 4-8 small losses before hitting trouble. Keep position sizes small enough that even a gap against you won't exceed 2% loss on any single trade.
Mindset
This is reconnaissance, not warfare. You're gathering intel on your own performance under these specific rules. Every challenge has its own personality - learn this one's quirks before pushing harder. The unlimited time limit is your biggest advantage.
If Ahead
Banking 1-2% profit? Perfect. Reduce position sizes even further and focus on maintaining consistency. Don't let early success make you cocky - the consistency rule means you can't rush this even if you wanted to.
If Behind
Down 1-2%? No problem, you have unlimited time. If you're down 3-4%, stop trading for the day and analyze what went wrong. Remember, you're only 6-7% away from the total drawdown limit, so patience is critical.
Week 2Steady Accumulation
Objective
Target 2-3% total profit by end of week. With the 2% daily consistency cap, you need at least 4 good days to reach the 8% target. Start building that foundation now. Focus on meeting the minimum 4 trading days requirement while staying within daily limits.
Position Sizing
Gradually increase to 1-1.5% risk per trade if Week 1 went smoothly. Still respect the 4% daily loss limit religiously. Calculate your position sizes based on 2% daily profit target - don't size for home runs you're not allowed to hit anyway.
Mindset
Think like a mason building a wall - brick by brick, day by day. The consistency rule is actually your friend here because it prevents you from blowing up with oversized positions. Embrace the grind and trust the process.
If Ahead
Sitting at 3-4% profit? You're ahead of schedule. This is dangerous territory - don't get greedy. Stick to your daily 2% maximum and maintain the discipline that got you here. You're halfway to Phase 1 completion.
If Behind
Still negative or barely positive? Don't panic. You have unlimited time, which is rare in prop trading. Review your trade selection, not your position sizing. Sometimes the best trade is no trade - wait for your highest probability setups only.
Week 3Strategic Push
Objective
Reach 5-6% total profit. You're now in the serious territory where the 10% total loss limit becomes more relevant to your psychology. Every trade matters, but don't let that tighten you up. Maintain 4+ trading days per week to avoid issues.
Position Sizing
If you're consistently profitable, consider 1.5-2% risk per trade maximum. However, if you're at 5% profit, you're only 5% away from the total loss limit. Position sizing should account for this shrinking buffer. Never risk more than half your remaining drawdown room.
Mindset
You're climbing the mountain and can see the summit. The air is thinner here - every decision has more weight. Stay process-focused, not outcome-focused. The consistency rule prevents heroic single-day victories, so stay patient.
If Ahead
At 6-7% profit? You're in the golden zone. You need just 1-2 more good days to hit the 8% target. Don't overthink it, but don't underthink it either. Stick to your best setups only and size appropriately for the finish line.
If Behind
Still under 4% profit? Time to get clinical about trade selection. You need consistent 2% days to catch up. Consider reducing size further to improve win rate. The unlimited time limit means you don't need to force anything - better to take longer than to fail.
Week 4Crossing the Finish Line
Objective
Reach the 8% target and transition to Phase 2 mindset. Remember that Phase 2 only needs 5% with the same rules, but has a 35% consistency rule (1.75% daily max). Start thinking about that transition now.
Position Sizing
If you're close to 8%, size positions to get there without risking a significant drawback. If you need 1% more, don't risk 3% to get it in one day. If you're still far behind, maintain your Week 3 sizing but be more selective with entries.
Mindset
The finish line is visible. This is where most traders either get conservative and stall out, or get aggressive and blow up. Stay balanced. Remember that passing Phase 1 is just the beginning - preserve your capital and confidence for Phase 2.
If Ahead
Hit the 8% target? Congratulations, but don't celebrate yet. Start thinking about Phase 2's 5% target with 1.75% daily consistency caps. The game changes slightly, so use any remaining time this week to adjust your approach for the new rules.
If Behind
Still chasing the 8%? Don't despair. You have unlimited time - use it. Take a day or two to review all your trades, identify your best setups, and come back with a refined approach. Better to take 6 weeks and pass than to rush and fail at the 10% loss limit.
