4-Week Strategy Framework
Week 1Foundation & Risk Management
Objective
Establish solid risk management habits and avoid the 4% daily loss trap. Focus on getting comfortable with the platform and your edge. You need just 3 trading days minimum, so take your time to build confidence.
Position Sizing
Risk maximum 1.5% per trade to stay well within the 4% daily limit. If you take 2 trades, you're still safe even if both go wrong. Never risk more than 2% of account per day total across all positions.
Mindset
This is a marathon, not a sprint. Finotive gives you unlimited time - use it. Every veteran prop trader will tell you: the firms make money from failed challenges, not from paying out traders. Be boring, be consistent.
If Ahead
Excellent start, but don't get cocky. Reduce risk to 1% per trade and focus on maintaining your edge. Document what's working in your trading journal.
If Behind
Stop trading for the day after any loss over 2%. You have unlimited time - there's no rush. Analyze what went wrong before placing another trade.
Week 2Building Momentum
Objective
Start building a small buffer above breakeven while maintaining strict risk discipline. The 7.5% total drawdown limit means you need to stay above -7.5% at all times - this is your real enemy, not daily limits.
Position Sizing
Stick to 1.5% risk per trade if you're near breakeven. If you've built a 3%+ cushion, you can consider 2% per trade, but never exceed 3% total daily exposure. Remember: 4% daily loss is account ending if you're near the 7.5% total limit.
Mindset
You're building a business, not gambling. Every prop trader I know who succeeded treated this like a professional operation. Focus on process over profit. The money follows good process.
If Ahead
You're doing something right. Don't change your approach - this is where most traders get greedy and blow up. Maintain your current risk per trade and keep grinding.
If Behind
If you're down more than 4% total, take a step back. Reduce risk to 1% per trade maximum. You have unlimited time but limited drawdown. Protect your remaining capital like your life depends on it.
Week 3Consistency & Discipline
Objective
Focus on consistent execution of your strategy. No consistency rule means you can have bad days, but you cannot have a 4% loss day or breach 7.5% total drawdown. Build a steady upward equity curve.
Position Sizing
If you're profitable: 1.5-2% per trade maximum. If you're at breakeven: 1% per trade. If you're down 5%+: 0.5% per trade until you recover. Always calculate your risk from the lowest point you've reached, not current balance.
Mindset
This is where discipline separates winners from losers. You've had time to see what works. Trust your process and execute mechanically. Emotions are your biggest enemy now.
If Ahead
Perfect. You're in the zone every funded trader dreams of. Don't increase risk - just keep doing exactly what got you here. Document your best trades for future reference.
If Behind
Time to get defensive. If you're approaching -6% total, consider taking a break. You're one bad trade away from ending the challenge. Focus on capital preservation over profit generation.
Week 4Challenge Completion
Objective
Execute your final trades to meet the minimum 3 trading days requirement if not already met, and secure your passing result. Focus on capital preservation and meeting basic requirements rather than maximizing profit.
Position Sizing
Ultra-conservative approach: 0.5-1% per trade maximum. You're this close to passing - don't blow it with oversized positions. If you need just one more trading day, make one small trade and walk away.
Mindset
You're at the finish line. Every funded trader has been here - the temptation to 'go big' on the last week destroys more challenges than bad strategy. Be boring, be safe, be funded.
If Ahead
You've essentially won. Make your minimum trades if needed with tiny risk (0.5% max) and submit for evaluation. Resist any urge to 'pad' your profits - that's how you snatch defeat from victory.
If Behind
If you're still behind but above -7% total, you have a decision: grind back slowly with 1% risk, or accept this challenge as a learning experience. Never risk more than 1.5% trying to 'save' a challenge - that's how you guarantee failure.
